JAMS Components

JAMS has three main components the Client, the Scheduler and Agents.

Client

The Client provides the user interface into JAMS. The Client provides three distinctly different interfaces:

• An Outlook-like GUI provides an intuituve, easy to learn interface.
• A rich command line interface for power-users and scripts.
• A complete .NET Class Library for easy integration into your applications.

The JAMS Client can be installed anywhere it's needed without incurring additional license fees.

Scheduler

The JAMS Scheduler is available for Windows or OpenVMS. The Scheduler is the heart of JAMS and is responsible for all scheduling, sequencing and notification activities.

The Scheduler is also where all license fees are incurred. The license fee is based upon the machine or cluster that the Scheduler runs on and, the number of external machines jobs will be executed on (Agent Licenses).

Agents

A JAMS Scheduler can run jobs on the machine or cluster where it's installed. If you also purchase Agent licenses, the Scheduler can run jobs on any machine that has an rexec server or has a JAMS Agent installed. A JAMS Agent is available for Windows and OpenVMS.

Free License

The free JAMS license will let you run up to 25 jobs a day, only on the machine where it's installed.
