MVP supports Hewlett Packard's evolving technology
Columbus, Ohio - October 20, 2003 - MVP Systems, Inc., the premiere leader in providing job scheduling applications for the OpenVMS Operating System announced today the successful port of JAMS, Job Access & Management System, to Hewlett-Packard's OpenVMS on the Intel® Itanium® 2 platform.
JAMS is a reliable, full featured, multi-platform job scheduling system supporting the OpenVMS, Windows NT/2000 and UNIX/Linux environments. "We are very excited to complete our applications port to OpenVMS on the Itanium® architecture. We've had a long history of success on the OpenVMS platform and want to make sure we continue to stay on the leading edge as technology evolves," said John Vottero, Vice President of Development for MVP. "Porting to OpenVMS on Itanium was fairly straightforward and we're confident that we will be able to deliver the same powerful scalability, availability and reliability on Itanium that our customers have come to expect with JAMS," continued Vottero. MVP is the second independent software vender in the world to port an OpenVMS application to the Itanium® 2 platform. The move reinforces MVP's commitment to delivering enterprise management solutions to the OpenVMS community and continues the company's long-standing, successful partnership with HP. "I congratulate MVP Systems on this momentous achievement of being the second of many ISVs on the HP Fast Track Program to port their applications to OpenVMS on Integrity servers. Our partners have become as excited as we are with over 500 of their applications committed to the port," said Mark Gorham, Vice President, Hp OpenVMS systems.
JAMS manages batch application integration and cross platform job dependencies by automating the entire life cycle of batch job processing, from the initial end-user request, to scheduling jobs, monitoring jobs for successful completion, and distributing the information produced by jobs. The complexities associated with running a professionally managed data center are significantly reduced with JAMS. Through its robust job scheduling features, JAMS integrates complex business processes across multiple applications and platforms and provides an easy way for different applications to work together. By scheduling specific tasks to be run in a specific order, JAMS allows IT organizations to implement business processes that depend on multiple tasks across different applications while managing dependencies between platforms so that business processes flow without interruption.
